These poisonous snakes seem docile under normal circumstances, but will charge at targets that pose a threat to their territory. They are easily dispatched with most conventional weaponry. Unlike most enemies throughout the evolving Zelda series, the Rope has changed relatively little in attack pattern and appearance. In The Adventure of Link, however, some Ropes will stay in one spot and shoot fireballs Link, while other will move as they fire their attacks at the young hero.
Strategy: Stay in one place and time your sword swing when they charge.
